What to do if You Forgot Your Apple Account Primary Email Address or Phone Number
If you forgot the email address or phone number that you use to sign in to your Apple Account or aren’t sure if you have one, you can look it up or check if you’re already signed in on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Vision Pro in Settings or check if you're already signed in on various Apple apps and Services such as the App Store or Apple Music.
See if You're Already Signed in to Your Apple Account
iPhone / iPad / iPod touch
- Open Settings
- Tap [Your Name] at the top of the main menu
- Tap the second option titled "Sign-In & Security"
- Find the email addresses and phone numbers you can use to sign in near the top. The top email address is your primary address used to sign into your Apple Account.
Mac
- Open the Apple menu
- Click on System Settings
- Click on [Your Name] at the top of the main menu on the left side panel
- Click on the second option titled "Sign-In & Security"
- Find the email addresses and phone numbers you can use to sign in near the top. The top email address is your primary address used to sign into your Apple Account.
Windows / PC
- Open the iCloud for Windows application
- Click on [Your Name]
- Click on Sign-In & Security
- Find the email addresses and phone numbers you can use to sign in to your Apple Account.
Past Emails from Apple
Your Apple Account primary email address might be included in the body of some emails from Apple. Search your inbox for receipts as well as repair, support, or billing emails from Apple.
If your primary email address is masked (j*****@icloud.com, the number of asterisks might not match the number of characters in your email address.
Other Ways to Find Your Apple Account
- Check if you’re signed in to the App Store, FaceTime, or Messages on your Apple device.
- Go to account.apple.com and see if the website remembers your Apple Account email address or phone number on the sign-in screen.
- If you’re part of a Family Sharing group, you can ask a family member to check their Family Sharing settings for your Apple Account information.
