Getting Started with Magnification for Android

Learn how to setup and use Magnificiation for Android to enlarge items on the screen.

Setup and Enable Magnification

The Magnification settings are slightly different between Android and OneUI Android (Google Pixel & Samsung Galaxy).

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll down to the bottom and tap Accessibility
  3. Tap Magnification under the Display section
  4. Enable Magnification Shortcut, then tap into it to configure the shortcut. You can set the following shortcuts:
Acccessibility button: Tap a button, a floating moveable button if you have swipe navigation set, or the accessibility icon in the bottom corner of your display if you have three-button navigation set.
Volume Keys: Press and hold both volume keys to enable and disable Magnification.
Triple-Tap: Quickly triple-tap to enable and disable Magnification.
Accessibility Gesture (Swipe Navigation access only): Swipe up with two fingers on the navigation bar to enable and disable Magnification.
  5. Set a Magnification type:
    Magnify Full Screen
    Magnify Part of Screen
Switch Between Full and Partial Screen: This will always allow you to switch between the types using the menu button in the right corner of the zoom field.

You can also enable Magnify typing and Keep on While Switching Apps if you want Magnifier zoomed in while typing and switching apps.

Note: Magnification is separated into Magnification and Magnification Window on Samsung Galaxy devices under Accessibility > Visibility Enhancements.
