The steps to restart an iPhone varies depending on the model you have.
Restart iPhone - Face ID
- Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the "slide to power off" screen appears
- Tap and slide the slider to the right to power off.
- To turn on your iPhone after 30 seconds, press and hold the side button and the volume up button until the Apple logo appears.
Restart iPhone - Touch ID & Side Power Button (SE 2 or 3 & 6 - 8)
- Press and hold the side button until the "slide to power off" screen appears.
- Tap and slider to the right to power off.
- To turn on your iPhone after 30 seconds, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
Restart iPhone - Touch ID & Top Power Button (SE 1 & 2G - 5)
- Press and hold the top button until the "slide to power off" screen appears.
- Tap and slider to the right to power off.
- To turn on your iPhone after 30 seconds, press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears.
If your iPhone is frozen or unresponsive, you can try a force restart.
