Meta released WhatsApp for iPad officially in the morning of May 27, 2025. Download it for free from the App Store here.

Apple's WWDC25 was held on June 9th - 13th with the unveiling of iOS, iPadOS, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS, and visionOS 26 (aka, iOS 19). All operating systems will share the same number based on the last two numbers of the year the software's lifespan will primarily be in.

Liquid Glass™ was unveiled and is the largest redesign across all of Apple's operating systems since iOS 7. It brings a heavy amount of transparency across the entire system, which I have found (from personal experience) to be very inaccessible. Thankfully, Apple has listened to complaints and has improved contrast for visibility and readability in the second developer beta and we expect it to be improved more before being released fully to the public.

Other key features coming to iOS, iPadOS, and macOS 26 are:
   ‣ Backgrounds and in-chat built in pulls for iMessage conversations.
   ‣ Call Screening is now available for iPhone
   ‣ Select what microphone is used to for input audio.
   ‣ The Previews app comes to iOS and iPadOS.
   ‣ A dedicated Games app (the return of the Game Center app)
   ‣ A dedicated Phone app for iPad and Mac.
   ‣ The Journal app comes to iPad and Mac-
   ‣ A new multitasking macOS-like experience for iPad complete with window tiling and a dedicated menu bar.
   ‣ More customization for the macOS Control Center,
   ‣ Shortcut Automations for Mac
   ‣ Spotlight quick actions for getting around your device or getting tasks done faster anywhere at any time.
